Two hours of doubles with Hanoi players on an indoor court by the Old Quarter, then egg coffee.
Hanoi's courts fill up after work, and the games are organised in Vietnamese on Zalo, so most visitors never get on court with local players. This morning fixes that. We book a court at Taurus Pickleball, an indoor club on the north edge of the Old Quarter, and invite Hanoi players matched to your level. You play doubles, rotate partners and get to know a few people who play here every week.
Afterwards we walk to a café for egg coffee, Hanoi's own, and you get tips on the city from people who live in it. You're back at your hotel by mid-morning with the whole day still ahead.
It's private, so it runs on the day you pick, whether you're on your own or bringing friends. It also slots into any of our Hanoi trips or a tailor-made itinerary.
Times are a guide. We start earlier in summer, when it's hot, and later in winter.
Your host meets you at your hotel. Taurus is a short walk or a five-minute ride away.
A quick warm-up, then games with the Hanoi players, swapping partners so you play with everyone.
A short walk to a café for cà phê trứng and a chat about the city, the game and where to eat.
Your host walks you back or points you to the Old Quarter sights you want to see next.
Any level. Tell us roughly how you play when you book and we match the Hanoi players to you, so beginners get patient partners and stronger players get real games.
Yes. The session is private and runs on the date you choose, whether you come alone, as a couple or with friends. We bring the local players, so you always have a full court of doubles.
No. Paddles and balls are included. Bring court shoes if you have them, a water bottle and a small towel. Our what to wear guide has the rest.
Hanoi's courts are packed after work. In the morning the court is quiet, it's cooler, and you still have the whole day for the Old Quarter. We invite the local players to come and play with you, so you get the games without the evening crowd. More on how the city plays in our guide to pickleball in Hanoi.
On the north edge of the Old Quarter, near Dong Xuan Market and Long Bien Bridge, about 15 minutes' walk from Hoan Kiem Lake. It's an indoor court, so rain and summer heat don't stop play.
Send us your date, how many of you are playing and roughly what level. We'll confirm the players and the time, usually within a few hours.
