Pickleball in Phu Quoc: courts, prices and resort courts

By Kevin · Published · 9 min read

Yes, you can play pickleball on Phu Quoc, and it's easier than most island holidays make it look. There are at least eight public venues, five-court halls in Duong Dong town, small clubs in An Thoi at the southern tip and two resort courts on Long Beach. An hour on court costs about 80,000 to 180,000 VND, split between four. Here is where to play, what it costs, how to get a game and which months to pick.

Price: about 80,000 to 180,000 VND per court per hour. Daytime is cheapest; 4pm to 8pm costs the most.

Best months: November to April. From May to October play in the morning or under a roof.

Can you play pickleball in Phu Quoc?

Yes. Phu Quoc has a growing local scene, with at least eight public venues and two resort courts, and visitors can book a court by the hour without joining anything.

The sport reached the island later than Hanoi or Saigon and then spread fast, partly through the tourism trade. On 23 May 2026 the second Phu Quoc Tourism Pickleball Open started on the island: about 100 pairs and more than 200 players from travel agencies, hotels, transport firms and clubs across Vietnam, organised by the An Giang Provincial Tourism Association, according to Bao Phap Luat. It is a holiday island with a pickleball habit, not a pickleball city, so expect friendly rather than competitive games.

Check before you go

Most of the court information online dates from 2025. Court counts, hours and prices on the island change often, and the sources disagree on some numbers (Phu Quoc Dynamics Center is listed with 7 courts on one site and 11 on its own Facebook page). Message the venue on Facebook or Zalo, or ask your hotel to call, before you make a ride for one court. Phu Quoc is now a special zone in An Giang province, so older articles still say Kien Giang.

Where are the best pickleball courts in Phu Quoc?

For the most choice, go to Duong Dong: Phu Quoc Dynamics Center, MTĐ and 287 Arena are within a few minutes of each other. In the south, Yumi in An Thoi is the best-known club. For a resort game, use the Pullman or Novotel courts on Long Beach.

Details come from Vietnamese court guides published in February and June 2025 (vivuvietnam.org, inhat.vn), the Sportnet and Pickleheads listings, and the resorts' own guest information. None of them is from this month, so treat every number as a guide and confirm it.

Duong Dong: MTĐ, 287 Arena and Phu Quoc Dynamics Center

Duong Dong is the island's main town and the easiest base for a court. MTĐ at 136 Nguyen Trung Truc has five courts and charged 140,000 VND for walk-ins before 4pm and 180,000 VND after in a June 2025 listing (members paid 10,000 VND less). 287 Arena on Street 30/4 is a covered sports complex with a cafe, listed at 100,000 VND on weekday days, 120,000 VND at weekends and 150,000 VND from 4pm to 8pm. Phu Quoc Dynamics Center, on the same road as MTĐ, has pickleball and badminton and opens from 5am.

An Thoi: Yumi, Family and H2O

An Thoi sits at the southern tip, near the ferry port and the cable car to Hon Thom. Yumi on Nguyen Van Cu has four courts, two indoor and two outdoor, open from 5am. Family Pickleball charged 80,000 VND an hour before 4pm and 100,000 VND after in 2025, with a 30,000 VND social court per person. H2O has two open-air courts on Road 46. If your hotel is in the south, these save you the 45-minute ride north.

How much does it cost to play pickleball in Phu Quoc?

Plan on 80,000 to 180,000 VND per court per hour. Split four ways that is 20,000 to 45,000 VND each, less than a coffee on Long Beach. Daytime is cheapest, 4pm to 8pm is the peak, and a social session costs 30,000 to 50,000 VND per player.

Which Phu Quoc resorts have pickleball courts?

Two Long Beach resorts do: Pullman Phu Quoc Beach Resort (outdoor courts, 7am to 9pm) and Novotel Phu Quoc Resort (one floodlit court, 7:30am to 9pm). Both are set up for hotel guests, and both are easier to book the day before.

At the Pullman, paddles, two balls and water are provided and a court takes four players. At the Novotel you book a slot by 9pm the night before. Pickleheads lists both as pay to play, so if you aren't staying there, ask reception about access and the price. These are holiday courts rather than club courts, great for a daily game between swims and not a place to find a crowd. Most other resorts on the island list tennis, so ask for pickleball in writing. Our guide to resorts with pickleball courts in Vietnam has the full list and what to ask.

How do you join a pickleball game in Phu Quoc as a visitor?

Book a court and ask for a social session. Family Pickleball and 287 Arena both listed paid sessions in 2025, 30,000 and 50,000 VND per player, where staff match you with other players. Message the venue on Facebook or Zalo the day before.

There is no single big community like the ones in Hanoi or Saigon, so the venue is your door in. Mornings between 6 and 9am are quieter and the people who play then are the regulars. If you want a game with Vietnamese players in Saigon first, our Ho Chi Minh City guide has the clubs, and the Where to Play section shows every court on a map. A few polite words go a long way: see pickleball in Vietnamese.

On an island, the court is the one place where locals and visitors end up on the same side of the net.

When is the best time to play pickleball in Phu Quoc?

November to April. These are the dry months, with sunshine and calm seas, and they match the best beach weather in Saigon. From May to October expect heavy afternoon rain, so play in the morning or book a covered court.

Phu Quoc's calendar is the southern one, the same as Saigon's: a dry season and a rainy season, with the wettest weather in the second half of the year. Even in the dry months the midday sun is hard on an open court, so play early or after 4pm. Our playing pickleball in the heat guide covers water and when to stop, and Vietnam in November 2026 and in December show what the start of the dry season looks like.

What does a pickleball day in Phu Quoc look like?

A game at 6 or 7am, breakfast and a swim, a quiet middle of the day, then the Duong Dong night market or a sunset at the southern beaches.

Two nights is enough to try a court and the beach, three or four if you want the boat trips and the north of the island. Our things to do in Phu Quoc guide has the rest. Phu Quoc is a one-hour flight from Saigon, so it sits well at the end of a trip. Add it after the Top to Bottom route, from $1,999, or to a tailor-made plan with Saigon and the Mekong. On the central coast, see pickleball in Nha Trang and pickleball in Da Nang.
